“GUESS MY ANSWER: Show Don’t Tell” is a set of printables that encourages descriptive writing on 20 topics. The principles of “show don’t tell” require students to use their senses, images and figurative language when writing a description.

In this set of printables the student writes three clues to describe various topics. Each topic includes a page of dotted thirds and a ruled page to support handwriting legibility. There is a dotted line to hide the answer for each page.  Students will like hiding their answer and reading out their clues for others to “guess”!

The topics included in this set of printables are:
·        Guess my animal
·        Guess my toy
·        Guess my sport
·        Guess my feeling
·        Guess my lunch
·        Guess my dessert
·        Guess my fruit
·        Guess part of my body
·        Guess my book
·        Guess my book character
·        Guess where I am playing
·        Guess where I am sitting
·        Guess where I am hiding
·        Guess where I am visiting
·        Guess who this person is
·        Guess how I am feeling
·        Guess when this happens
·        Guess what I am looking forward to
·        Guess what I am waiting for
·        Guess what I am travelling in

The clues written by students can be used to help them to write a paragraph about the chosen topic.

For best A4 printing, select “shrink to printable area”.
